75 YEARS OF IMPACT

Since 1950, UT Social Work has led in developing leaders and change-makers committed to advancing society through innovative teaching, impactful scholarship and compassionate service.

With the highest rate of first gen students, and among the highest four-year graduation rates on the Forty Acres, the school is one of the greatest catalysts for human flourishing at The University of Texas at Austin – both in the academy and practice of social work.

PURPOSE FOR THE PAST, VISION FOR TOMORROW

As we reflect on the legacy of the past seven and a half decades, we are also focused on building a stronger future—one where every student has the opportunity to fully engage in their education without the burden of financial hardship.

That's why, in honor of this anniversary year, we’re launching a special campaign to raise outright scholarship support for practicum education students. Practicum is at the heart of our curriculum, providing students with real-world experience that prepares them to lead, serve, and advocate in their communities. Yet for many, the financial strain of unfunded practicum placements can be a significant barrier. Your support can change that.

A gift to this campaign directly supports scholarships for students as they complete their required practicum placements—offsetting costs such as transportation, housing, and lost wages from part-time jobs. Your generosity empowers them to fully commit to this critical phase of their training and, in turn, strengthens the future of our field.
