SUPPORT TEXAS DANCE!
Texas Dance is a competitive dance team of the University of Texas at Austin. Established almost fifty years ago in 1977, Texas Dance maintains a long tradition of performance, competition, and excellence in representing UT.
Focusing on jazz and hip-hop, the team hosts a seasonal showcase, performs in multiple events on the Forty Acres, and attends National Dance Alliance (NDA) Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Texas Dance strives to give back to the Austin community by hosting clinics and workshops for young dancers. In the spring, we rehearse, compete, and hold tryouts!

HOOK 'EM from Austin to Daytona!
Our team fundraises for our journey to NDA Nationals every April, where the top collegiate teams around the nation compete in Daytona Beach, Florida.
To prepare for our competition, we rehearse twelve hours a week, often more, out of dedication for our success. Dancers spend long hours in the studio to solidify Texas Dance's place among the best college dancers in the country.
In our sport, many teams are supported by their universities’ athletic programs. Texas Dance is unique because we are a 100% student-run team through RecSports. Donor contributions assist with the choreography, costumes, transportation and fees necessary to represent the University of Texas at Austin with success and pride.
We appreciate any donations that will help us get to nationals!
These gifts allow team members to focus less on financials and more on dancing. With your donation, we would be one step closer to competing without financial burden, allowing us a greater opportunity to bring home a national championship title - one that UT has never before claimed.
This past season, in April 2026, we secured a finalist spot in Jazz for the second consecutive year. We also scored our highest marks to date in Hip Hop. We hope to continue our growth trajectory into 2027!
As we've seen these past years, UT excels in sports across the board, and we hope Texas Dance can join the ranks of excellence among other powerhouse UT teams.
