The Project is The University of Texas at Austin's largest day of student service. This university-wide event helps thousands of students, faculty, and staff each year connect with different neighborhoods in Austin. It is organized and run by the Community Engagement Collective (CEC) and annually marks the culmination of a year-long partnership between the CEC and community leaders within Austin. This year’s Project is set to take place on November 8th, 2025!
The Project is responsible for having students come together to uplift local neighborhoods in Austin through community engagement, volunteer work, and meeting the needs of the community. Many of these volunteer tasks include beautification projects, building picnic tables and benches, painting, constructing libraries within schools, organizing a community fair for children and families, cleaning up trash, installing fire alarms in homes, organizing donation pantries, and much more.
The Project celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2024 by collaborating with Dove Springs, a neighborhood in South Austin, focusing on the upkeep of their elementary schools through renovation, landscaping, and greenkeeping projects. We accumulated over 900 volunteers and around 4122.5 service hours last Project and are planning to more than double the number of volunteers this year, which is why we need your help.
Your donation helps provide the materials, tools, and support necessary to carry out community projects across Austin. With the help of donations, we are able to aim for and create a larger impact within the communities we serve and strive to create a better future. Please donate today!
