The C.D. Doyle Clinic is a student-run, free clinic supported by Dell Medical School that operates on Sundays, at Esperanza Community (a shelter complex) in southeast Austin. C.D. Doyle has an open door policy that provides services to any individual regardless of insurance, ID, or residency status. Our mission is to help all patients, regardless of their circumstances. C.D. Doyle Clinic is staffed by a volunteer group of physicians, medical students, nurse practitioners, and pre-health undergraduate volunteers. This allows us to serve as both a vital community resource and a training environment for future physicians. We aim to reduce barriers to care in Austin, and build long-term, trust-based relationships with the community that we serve.
As a student-run free clinic, our ability to serve patients depends directly on the supplies we have on hand. Funds raised through this campaign will support the purchase of essential medical supplies, including medical equipment, life-saving medications like naloxone (Narcan) and epinephrine, over-the-counter medications, and wound care and treatment materials. This financial support will ensure that when a patient walks through our doors, we can focus entirely on their care, and not on whether we have the resources to treat them.
