UTeach STEM
Who We Are
UTeach is a program within the College of Natural Sciences that empowers students to earn a secondary STEM teaching certification alongside their undergraduate degree, without any added time or cost. Our mission is to address the critical shortage of high-quality teachers and expanding access to STEM education. Through UTeach, we provide high-quality training for future math and science teachers who are passionate about shaping the next generation of learners.
What We're Fundraising For
We are raising funds to support student teachers who are working in the field as interns at local schools and educational nonprofits. These internships give our future educators the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom, while also making a meaningful impact on the students they work with. Funds raised will directly benefit internships at institutions like Austin High School, Kealing Middle School, Crockett High School, GirlStart, and others, where our students are learning and growing as future leaders in education.
Your Impact
Your gift has the power to shape the careers of aspiring teachers and enrich the learning experiences of students in our community. Donations to UTeach provide our interns with the resources they need to succeed, whether it’s access to classroom materials or support in their day-to-day activities. The impact of these internships is clear from the stories of our students:
"This internship has offered me an opportunity to collaborate and share ideas with like-minded individuals who share a passion for teaching. My communication skills have improved exponentially, and I know this experience will help me in the future as I continue my education." – Jeffrey
"This experience opened my eyes to how I can simplify my writing for all students. Communication is the most important skill for any teacher, and I’ve greatly improved in this area throughout my internship. Thank you so much for this opportunity." – Ryan
"As a UTeach intern, I’ve been involved in tasks like lesson planning, grading, and working in science labs. Seeing students get excited about hands-on experiments has been incredibly rewarding. The skills I’ve gained will help me not only in teaching but in other aspects of my life. Thank you for making this opportunity possible." – Carmen
Your support ensures that these transformative experiences continue to empower the next generation of educators. Thank you for helping us build a brighter future for our students and our community.
