The Histories of Italians in Texas (HIAT) is a collaborative oral history initiative dedicated to documenting and preserving the experiences of Italians and Italian Americans who lived in Texas during the twentieth century.
You can read about us here.
By conducting recorded interviews with individuals and families, the project will capture both firsthand memories and family histories passed through generations. These testimonies will become valuable primary sources for scholars studying immigration, cultural identity, and ethnic communities in Texas.
