Who We Are
The University of Texas Weightlifting Team was formed in 2016 by a small group of students who shared a passion for training in the sport of weightlifting. In the years since, the team has introduced the sport to scores of University of Texas students, sent dozens to represent UT on the national stage and currently has 30 active members. In addition to being the introduction point for many novice weightlifters, the team has also been highly successful. Since 2019, the team has earned over 50 national medals and 10 national team trophies including seven Men's and Women's U25 National Championships.

What Are We Fundraising For
The money we raise will support our 2026 Summer and Fall semester expenses, including the national team's travel to Colorado Springs, CO to compete at the 2026 National Championships Week and competition expenses for the 2026 Regional University Championships. Funds raised will cover travel, lodging, USAW memberships, and meet entry fees for both local and national competitions. While the sport of weightlifting is an original Olympic event, it is not currently an NCAA sport, so the athlete's ability to annually showcase their yearly hard work on a national stage has been dependent on the generous donors who have contributed to the program.

Your Impact
Past donations have been directly responsible for the ability of University of Texas students to compete nationally and internationally against their peers and showcase their hard work. Your support has been essential to the growth and success of our team! Thank you for your generosity and belief in UT Weightlifting!
