About

Texas Science & Natural History Museum

Bring Texas’ Natural History to Life!

Texas Science & Natural History Museum excites, engages and connects curious minds of all ages with the unique and irreplaceable natural history of Texas.

The museum tells the story of life in the natural world in Texas, from the formation of our planet, through the age of the dinosaurs, to our current environment.

As a self-supporting unit of The University of Texas at Austin, the museum relies on the philanthropic support of members and donors. Your financial support will help foster a robust educational experience, create innovative new exhibits and help ensure the museum’s long-term sustainability as a treasured community resource.

Make a Lasting Impact

Since reopening in September 2023, we’ve welcomed over 100,000 visitors, including almost 500 school and community groups. With your support, we can continue to engage and educate visitors about life in the natural world, inspire current and future generations of scientists, and establish an enduring legacy of academic and scientific excellence.

Your gift helps us:

  • Create transformative and hands-on educational experiences
  • Develop interactive learning programs that make science and natural history fun and engaging
  • Enhance exhibits and outreach to spark curiosity and inspire future scientists

Join us in fostering curiosity, discovery, and education for the next generation!

  • $50 provides a day of exploration at the museum for 8 students
  • $150 supports a hands-on learning activity for a school group
  • $250 will help underwrite free public education programs

"Wow! Thank you so much for this amazing field trip. Our fourth graders loved viewing the collections and interacting with the docents. It was also an important experience for our students to be on a college campus. Several students mentioned that they would like to attend UT in their future!" — Educator, Ruth Barron Elementary (Title I)
