About Landmarks
As the university’s public art program, Landmarks enriches the lives of students and visitors by presenting art that is broadly accessible and free to all. Some fifty modern and contemporary pieces are located throughout the 433-acre campus and viewed by thousands of people every day. For many, the collection provides an introductory opportunity to discover great works of art. By creating equitable pathways to meaningful engagement, Landmarks reflects the complex audiences we serve and celebrates our differences.

The Best Kept Secret
One of the nation’s top public art programs is hiding in plain sight. Across the Forty Acres, students, faculty, and campus visitors enjoy works by some of the world’s leading artists. While they recognize the art, few are aware of the award-winning program behind it. Despite national recognition, Landmarks remains largely invisible within our own community.
Why? Because we lack a physical presence.
Without a gallery, building, or welcome desk, Landmarks is easy to experience but difficult to identify. Many don’t realize the collection is curated, or that we offer tours, educational programs, and robust resources that lead to personal enrichment and a lifetime of arts engagement. Recent surveys have confirmed what we expected. Those who know us love us, but awareness of our program is low. As one survey respondent noted, “Landmarks is amazing! I just never knew it existed.”

A Mobile Presence for Maximum Impact
To bridge the visibility gap, Landmarks is launching the Art Cart — a mobile kiosk designed to bring our award-winning public art program directly to the community. The Art Cart will serve as a rolling ambassador. It gives Landmarks a face, voice, and physical presence — right where people gather. We developed this initiative in direct response to feedback: “Landmarks needs to enhance visibility and broaden its base of support.”
The Art Cart answers that call. It’s an innovative, cost-effective way to draw attention to our program, pique curiosity, and make Landmarks instantly recognizable.
A High-Impact Presence, Powered by Your Support
