Help Central Texas Theater Students Shine
The Heller Awards for Young Artists (HAYAs) celebrate high school theater students from 40 schools across Central Texas. Now part of Texas Performing Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, the HAYAs provide year‑round training, coaching, and scholarships that help young performers find their voice—and their community.

Your 40 for Forty gift ensures that every theater student—from schools large and small—finds their place to shine.
Your gift to the HAYAs will:
- Provide scholarships and professional coaching for HAYA participants
- Fund year-round educational programs connecting students with Broadway professionals
- Help underserved schools access the same opportunities as larger programs—leveling the playing field for all

Stories That Start on This Stage
Through the HAYAs, theater students like Langston Lee found more than a stage—Langston found a launchpad and a community.
After winning the HAYAs’ Best Lead Actor award, Langston advanced to the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, better known as the Jimmy Awards—a nationally recognized program that brings the top high school performers from across the country to New York City for a week of intensive training on Broadway.
Langston became the first Austin-area student ever to win the top national award. Today, he’s preparing for a career on stage.
But what he remembers most isn’t the trophy—it’s the community that believed in him.
Langston Lee is one of thousands of theater students who find their community through the HAYAs.
Make your 40 for Forty gift today—so thousands more can discover their voice, their confidence, and their community!
