About

Contribute to the future of of publishing excellence at the University of Texas Press

Who we are: The University of Texas Press is a book and journal publisher of international scope. The Press publishes works in a wide range of fields, from scholarly concentrations in areas including architecture, film and media studies, and Latin American studies, to books of general interest for a wider audience on subjects including history, the visual arts, music, and food. As part of its mission to serve the people of Texas, the Press also produces books on the history, culture, arts, and natural history of the state. Established in 1950, UT Press has published more than 4,000 books over seven decades. Under the direction of Robert Devens, the Press produces approximately one hundred new books and thirteen journals each year.

What we're fundraising for: As a mission-driven, not-for-profit publisher, UT Press depends on the generosity of people who share our passion for groundbreaking scholarly work and illuminating general interest books. Book publishing, done well, is an expensive endeavor. At UT Press, we seek the very best manuscripts from authors who lead their fields, and we commit to developing these manuscripts into attractive books of lasting importance and disseminating them as widely as possible. Doing so requires a series of investments—in highly skilled staff, quality materials, and careful production. In each of these areas, we are focused on excellence. By making a gift to UT Press, you will greatly assist us in continuing to fulfill our mission. All donations we receive are available to us to answer the greatest needs of the day, whether that is absorbing the costs of color illustrations in an art history book or creating professional development opportunities for staff.

Over more than seventy-five years, some of our most ambitious undertakings—from new book series like The Texas Bookshelf to beautifully produced books on the visual arts—have been made possible by enthusiastic supporters. Your gift will support these and other endeavors well into the future, maintaining the presence of a publisher of international scope here on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
