The Engineering Chamber Orchestra (EChO) is the largest student-run orchestra at UT. EChO is open to all majors and serves to provide performance opportunities to UT students.

Since the EChO is completely student-run, the majority of our funding comes from member dues and donations. These funds help us rent rehearsal/performance spaces, purchase sheet music, and host socials for our membership.
Students who join EChO are often those who were part of their high school bands/orchestras and wish to continue playing their instruments. Many of the ensembles associated with the music department at UT require auditions and have hectic rehearsal schedules. EChO aims to provide a medium for busy college students to continue making music in a low-stress environment.

EChO also regularly gives back to our community in the greater Austin area, including volunteering at food banks and performing at rehearsal homes.
Any donations EChO receives helps support our goals. Donations to EChO will go towards funding performance opportunities and social events. Furthermore, donations allow EChO to reduce our required member dues, which lowers the financial burden on our student membership.
