NDatUT Presents: Sensory Kits for Campus
Autism and ADHD Support
Longhorn TIES (Transition, Illuminate, Empower, Success) coordinates and facilitates all neurodiversity initiatives on the campus of UT Austin. They seek to enhance the student experience for those who identify as neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, etc.) through self-advocacy, connections and training. Longhorn TIES encompasses TIESplus one-on-one student support services, NDatUT campus-wide programming and events, presentations and trainings, and more.
This year we are raising funds for students to create personalized sensory kits! Sensory kits are powerful tools designed to help students manage sensory overload, stress, and anxiety—common challenges for neurodivergent students in the college environment. Sensory kits typically include items such as fidget tools, noise-canceling headphones, stress-relief balls, textured fabrics and essential oils, all aimed at creating a calming and focused atmosphere for students. The sensory kits will be available to students during a special NDatUT campus-wide program.

"Fidgets help students physically and emotionally regulate to put their best foot forward in and out of the classroom." -UT Austin Student
For college students, the transition to university life can be overwhelming, with increased academic demands, social pressures, and changes in routine. Sensory kits provide an essential resource to support mental health and well-being by offering sensory tools that can help students self-regulate, reduce anxiety and improve concentration. These kits serve as an accessible and simple way to not only support neurodivergent students but all students, fostering a healthier campus community!
Overall, sensory kits can enhance students' ability to manage their emotions and improve their focus, productivity and overall college experience. By raising funds for sensory kits, we are investing in the well-being and success of students, ensuring that everyone has the tools they need to thrive both academically and personally.

"I met people and finally found friends on campus. The fidget toys and activities were great."
