About

LBJ School Foreign Policy Semester in Washington, DC

In Spring 2024 the LBJ School of Public Affairs launched our first Foreign Policy Semester in Washington, DC, hosted by the LBJ Washington Center. The program is designed to provide participating students with an unparalleled exposure to how foreign policy is created and impacted by entities within the federal arena.

Open to second and third year LBJ students as well as University of Texas at Austin juniors and seniors, this program is the perfect option for students who want to experience our nation’s capital for an edge in their job search or to round out their academic experience.

Your support will help ease the financial burden of studying away from campus and help ensure more Longhorns are able to experience foreign policy up close and in person in our nation’s capital!

“The classes on foreign policy and global policy institutions have been incredibly engaging and enriching, and I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned in the classroom while learning from real-world practitioners in the field.”

"Participating in the LBJ Foreign Policy semester has been invaluable. As an intern at the Organization of American States, I have engaged with professionals making a real impact in Latin America and the Caribbean. This program has immersed me in foreign policy and equipped me with crucial skills to confidently navigate DC's policy landscape as I begin my career journey."
