Who We Are
The University of Texas Weightlifting Team was formed in 2016 by a small group of students who shared a passion for training in the sport of weightlifting. In the years since, the team has introduced the sport to scores of University of Texas students, sent dozens to represent UT on the national stage and currently has 30 active members. In addition to being the introduction point for many novice weightlifters, the team has also been highly successful. Since 2019, the team has earned over 50 national medals and 10 national team trophies including seven Men's and Women's U25 National Championships.

What Are We Fundraising For
The money we raise will allow the team to travel to Colorado Springs this summer to represent the University of Texas against the best weightlifters from across the nation. Funds will cover airfare, lodging, food, and meet entry fees, among other expenses. While the sport of weightlifting is an original Olympic event, it is not currently an NCAA sport. The students of the University of Texas Weightlifting Team have been working to create a program that provides student-athletes in weightlifting with athletic opportunities on par with contemporary collegiate athletic standards.

Your Impact
Past donations have been directly responsible for the ability of University of Texas students to compete nationally and internationally against their peers and showcase their hard work.
