Founded in 1964, Texas Men’s Soccer is the highest-level men's team representing the University of Texas. As a student-run team, we provide a highly competitive soccer environment without sacrificing any one of our players' academic pursuits. This unique environment has been possible over the years thanks to the steady stream of talent that attends the University as well as a dedicated coaching staff and alumni association. As such, we are proud to have advanced to the semi-finals of the national club soccer tournament in two of the last three years, an invite-only tournament that the top performing clubs in the nation participate in.
Financing for our competitive fall season comes primarily in the form of dues paid by students. Financing equipment, travel expenses, coach payments, referees, trainers, and jerseys can cause steep dues for our members. Furthermore, it has been announced that the national tournament this fall will be held in Kansas City, increasing the expected travel expenses by a significant amount. Donations will allow our club to remain competitive at a national level.
Your gift ensures our club can operate and compete at a high level while relieving the financial burden of our athletes. To maintain a nationally competitive club program, our athletes sacrifice a significant amount of their week for practices, travel, and games. For many, balancing soccer with school means they do not have the ability to take on part-time or full-time work. Thus, increasing membership dues may become too large of a financial burden for some athletes. Your gift would have a sizable impact on our club's ability to keep membership dues at a manageable level for our members.
