Since 2019, Open Educational Resources materials have served at least 63% of UT Austin students and have saved students approximately $1,878,238 annually, as they can access valuable textbook and online materials for free through UT Libraries.

Open Educational Resources are open license materials that can be accessed by anyone, and this endowment will provide resources for UT Austin professors to create OER materials. They are generally free of cost for students to access. OERs may be textbooks, full courses, lesson plans, videos, tests, software, or any other tool, material, or technique that supports access to knowledge.

By supporting Open Educational Resources at UT Austin you are not only removing financial and material barriers to student success, but you are also ensuring that UT Libraries are on the forefront of accessibility, innovation, and collaboration.
