Kashvika Thurvas Ratheesh is a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Certificate in Humanitarian Engineering. She is passionate about combining innovation with reason and she has conducted research on embolisms and thrombocytes in the Parekh Lab, led bone marrow donor drives through the Gift of Life Organization, and contributed to patient safety initiatives at Ascension Dell Seton Hospital. She aims to use engineering as a tool to advance global health equity and improve the quality of life in underserved communities.

Team Biodigester


Alisa Ali serves as the Team Lead for the Biodigester Project, which focuses on the safe and sustainable processing of human waste through a flexigester system that will promote sanitary conditions in resource-limited environments. The team's current focus is to enhance the previous iteration by developing a more feasible and efficient design that utilizes solar power integration and improves overall system performance

Team Latrine

Raul Munoz is a third-year civil engineering major, and the current Leader for Team Latrine. In this project, we are working to improve the overall design for the latrines in the Red Cross Refugee Camp in Kenya. With your help, we can change the lives of many underrepresented people in Kenya who lack basic human needs.
