American Society of Civil Engineers - Design Competitions

We are the American Society of Civil Engineers - UT Austin Chapter (UT ASCE)! Our organization provides aspiring Civil Engineers with opportunities to develop themselves professionally and technically through design competitions.

UT ASCE competes in various major national and regional design competitions, including:

• Concrete Canoe
• Timber Strong
• Steel Bridge
• Smaller competition teams like Surveying and Sustainable Solutions

These teams provide students with hands-on engineering experience that prepares them for future technical and leadership roles in all sectors of the Civil Engineering industry. Moreover, our teams have proven to foster student engagement and community building within the Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering.

Our teams compete at the regional and national levels in the annual ASCE Student Symposium every spring, giving students the opportunity to showcase their efforts from the past year and make connections across universities.

Your support will directly shape the educational and technical development of future UT civil engineers. Funds will go directly towards building materials and travel costs for the regional and national 2026 ASCE Student Symposiums.
