About Texas Flight
We are Texas Flight, the University of Texas at Austin’s official AIAA Design Build Fly (DBF) team. Every year, we take on the challenge of designing, building, and flying a custom radio-controlled aircraft for one of the most competitive student aerospace competitions in the world.
Texas Flight is entirely student-led, with members from across the Cockrell School of Engineering collaborating to turn classroom theory into real-world innovation. From detailed CAD modeling and aerodynamic analysis to hands-on fabrication and test flights — we do it all.

Why We Need Your Support
Building an aircraft from scratch isn’t easy—or cheap. We’re raising funds to cover the cost of high-performance materials and components like various composites, electronics, and structural hardware that are essential to building a safe, lightweight, and competitive aircraft.
Your support on HornRaiser helps us:
- Build and equip our aircraft with critical components.
- Access advanced tools and testing equipment for fabrication and development.
- Travel and compete at the global level, showcasing student innovation.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences that prepare the next generation of aerospace engineers.
How You Can Help
Please donate today to help us take flight! Every contribution directly supports our students as we design, build, and compete on the global stage.
By supporting Texas Flight, you’re not just funding a project—you’re investing in the next generation of engineers and innovators representing UT Austin.
Together, we can make this year’s mission a success. Hook ’em Horns! 🤘✈️
